Shit drumming, adequate bass, they're desperately pushing to the limit of their abilities.....
Review by - Tear Up
Once upon a time, in Grantham, a cold autumn morning in 1973, Peter Edinburgh went to school with a new long player record under his arm. It was Raw Power by The Stooges.
Aubrey Eels liked the photo of Iggy Pop on the front cover and asked Peter if he could borrow the LP. Aubrey was blown away and never listened to the Bay City Rollers again!
At the same time Aubrey was enjoying Pam Ayres on the Hughie Green television program “Opportunity Knocks”. Pam’s poems were the best.
When Jake Thackray appeared on “That’s life” the plan was hatched. The journey began!
The Baron used to work at a radio station, meeting many musicians who he helped on their way.
These encounters and listening to the thundering bass on recordings of the Stranglers, inspired The Baron to buy a bass guitar.
Aubrey was enjoying indifference from audiences performing poetry. No none was listening. He knew he needed to become loud and brash.
Once he heard The Baron punching out bass lines with the Lemmy sound, like Moses and the burning bush, the future was set… the boys pushed through their mothers meaty flap - the rest is history.....
